2021 Crushpad Piquette
Whimsy captured in a glass. A medley of hibiscus, berries and dried herbs on the nose. The spritzy palate twirls with notes of sour cherry, wild strawberry, rhubarb and white tea. Crisp acidity with a delightful pop of tartness on the finish. A fresh and refreshing low alcohol wine, made and enjoyed for centuries among the French vignerons. We say oui oui!
About Piquette
Piquette is made from a second fermentation and pressing of grape pomace, which normally goes to waste in modern winemaking. Known most famously as a provincial wine historically made by French vineyard workers for their own enjoyment, this practice dates as far back as Ancient Rome. With Piquette, wine grapes get a second life as a light and refreshing "wine of the people."
