2019 The Philosopher
When Aristotle observed that “no great mind has ever existed without a touch of madness,” he could have been talking about great wine. The Philosopher adds a genius touch of madness to coveted Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, coaxing tradition out of bounds. Heady aromas of plum and leather followed by an immersion of black cherry, boysenberry, and cassis across the palate. Undercurrents of truffled spice and cocoa powder emerge, finishing with a subtle zing of black pepper. I drink, therefore I am.

Label Art
Naturally, we encountered more questions than answers when it came to creating a label for The Philosopher. Our winemaker, convinced that the wine speaks for itself, advocated for no label at all. Well that isn't legal, so we set off in search of an artistic solution to our existential dilemma. We discovered an intriguing algorithm, one that generated meandering patterns with no end, matching question for question the deep genius of this wine. To complete our quest we turned to our favorite philosophers, gleaned data from their life histories, and merged it with our algorithm. The resulting art reveals the mysteries of truth and beauty captured by The Philosopher.
