2016 The Anarchist
A blend like no other. Refreshing, light and lively; we've managed to capture summer in a glass. Bursting with ripe apple, peach, pear and melon. White flowers, baking spice and a hint of thyme also spill from the glass. On the palate, juicy apple and stone fruit with a touch of citrus and minerality. Elegant, with polished texture and a clean finish. This wine started out as a dry version of Chenin Blanc, Gewurztraminer, and Riesling — once we got to the blending table, we tinkered and tweaked with Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier and Chardonnay. With 6 varietals fighting for the stage, anarchy ensued and we declared Martial law on this proprietary blend.
This wine declared its own name as The Anarchist. We needed a label that could stand up to this wild thing and match its every move. It took an algorithm to figure this out — one generating art that colors outside the lines, unconstrained by tired conventions. The algorithm made patterns, but this wine needed more. So, we wrestled down a list of our favorite anarchists; people spanning centuries and continents who shattered paradigms and changed the trajectory of human history. We merged data from the lives of these anarchists with our algorithm and produced a unique piece of art, graphically expressing challenge to the status quo. The art on this label embraces the spirit of The Anarchist, and all of the anarchists who made it possible.
